Message rotors were drilled blanks by Stillen. They were not considered the best. That's why you could see Brembo drilled big brake kits on the front and non drilled rotors on the back. That did lead to Stillen buying components from AP Racing and putting together aftermarket big brake kits which they still do today. As far as friction rings in two piece rotors, I'm pretty sure the rings in the Gran Turismo kits made the same way as the ones on the supercars with Brembo brakes (just not the ones with Ceramic discs).
